Entrepreneur & AI Enthusiast

Many ideas.
And eager to
make a difference.

I’m Markus Schulz. I bring people, technology and business ideas together—with curiosity for AI and the ambition to combine entrepreneurial success with responsibility for people and nature.

01 / About me

Where business ideas meet
an instinct for people.

I’m fascinated by what can emerge when people with different strengths work on an idea together.

My journey has taken me from banking to IT and the digital agency world. Today, I combine commercial thinking with technology, sales and marketing. I enjoy listening, seeing things from other perspectives and turning possibilities into concrete next steps.

I want to help build companies and products that are economically viable and make a positive contribution. How do we get there? I’m working on it—and learning every day.

A moment to remember: receiving the Franz Wagner Award.

Bachelor’s thesis / SaaS & go-to-market

What is the right
price for software?

In my bachelor’s thesis, I developed a go-to-market pricing structure for a SaaS company using the e-commerce monitoring software ShopEKG as a case study. The central question was how to determine the right price and pricing tiers for software.

I received the Franz Wagner Award for the thesis’s innovative approach. In his laudatory speech, Prof. Dr. Ralf Ueding recognised my work on ShopEKG’s pricing structure. That means a great deal to me.

The thesis received the top German grade of 1.0. The award recognised its innovation, rather than the grade itself.

Freelancing / Support as an equal partner

Someone who thinks with you.
And takes an honest look.

I support you with digital strategy, marketing and sales.

My work in the agency world has given me many perspectives. I have seen and experienced a great deal, and learned from countless conversations. High costs alone say little about the quality you will receive. What matters is what your project actually needs—and who will deliver it.

That is why I look more closely: Does the experience you are billed for match the people assigned to the work? Are tasks and responsibilities clear? Is the effort transparent? These questions also help assess the work of interns, junior staff and experienced specialists fairly.

Let’s discuss your questions
01

Digital strategy & priorities

I help you sharpen your goals, assess opportunities and develop a digital strategy that can be put into practice. Following the 80/20 principle, we focus on the measures most likely to make the greatest difference.

02

Marketing & sales

We examine positioning, audiences, channels and the path from initial awareness to an enquiry or purchase. Together, we identify what is holding you back and which next steps make sense.

03

Visibility on Google, ChatGPT & beyond

I help make your company and offers easier to understand and find through search engines and AI-assisted search—with clear content, a clean structure and the right technical foundations.

04

Assessing agencies & proposals

I support you in selecting an agency, comparing proposals and challenging scope, effort and cost. We also clarify who will actually work on your project, what experience they bring and how their work is billed.

80/20

The important things first.

We do not have to tackle everything at once. Together, we set priorities, create clarity and focus on what will truly move you forward.

03 / What drives me

Good ideas
should reach
people.

Some meaningful innovations remain small because they are difficult to explain, hard to find or complicated to buy.

This is where I want to apply my experience in sales, marketing and e-commerce: making good solutions easy to understand, winning people over and developing viable business models around them.

I also want to keep their effects on people and the environment in view. I am learning which questions to ask—and how to turn good intentions into a contribution that can be understood and measured.

Curious about what is possible.
Responsible for what it becomes.

04 / The values behind my work

Listen. Connect.
Make things happen.

Fairness & transparency

I want to understand what people need and find solutions that are fair to everyone involved. Clear deliverables, transparent costs and honest communication are essential to me.

Responsibility

I want to use my abilities for economically viable ideas that benefit people and the environment. I keep learning how to do that better every day.

Curiosity & openness

I listen to other perspectives, question familiar assumptions and try things out. With AI in particular, I want to understand the possibilities and make conscious decisions about what is useful.

Appreciation & reliability

Keeping promises, giving respectful feedback and moving into action together: that is how I want to work with people.

05 / At home outdoors

With nature.
With a clear mind.

Sailing clears my head—and keeps teaching me to look more closely.

I am actively involved in the Paderborn sailing club PBYC. Being on the water makes one thing clear: you cannot fight nature. You can only find the right way by working with it.

Understand the wind, stay alert and choose your course deliberately: nature and sound judgement will get you to your destination. I carry that lesson with me on land as well.

“Nature sets the conditions.
Sound judgement helps us find our course.”

What sailing teaches me

People, coffee & a different view

Happy at the office.
Sometimes surrounded by nature.

At home, I eventually miss the exchange with others. To me, an office creates value when people work together honestly, share their perspectives and develop ideas as a team.

An office should be a place people enjoy coming to: for good conversations, focused work and encounters that lead to something new.

For a deliberate change of perspective, I built a workspace into my self-converted camper. It lets me work in nature from time to time, clear my head and develop new ideas.

Right next to my desk is an old, pre-owned La Pavoni. It is older than I am, receives plenty of care and makes excellent coffee. That may be why my colleagues enjoy stopping by :)

My Moments of Growth

In a fast-moving world, it is easy to forget what we have already achieved, experienced and created—and what we can be proud of.

That is why I developed My Moments of Growth. The software lets people save meaningful moments, document and follow their goals, and establish new habits.

Over time, it creates a personal view of one’s own growth: the small steps, special achievements and the path already travelled.

06 / Let’s connect

Good ideas begin
with a conversation.

Are you building a sustainable company or trying to make a positive difference through your work? I enjoy meeting entrepreneurs who care about fairness, nature and treating people responsibly.

I am always happy to exchange thoughts on sustainable business ideas, fresh perspectives or a decision that could benefit from a second pair of eyes. Honest feedback and sparring are part of a good network to me—no paid engagement required.

Business community meetup: I also organise a casual German-speaking meetup for people with a business background. If you would enjoy meeting new people, exchanging ideas openly and having good conversations, you are welcome to join.

Simply get in touch—perhaps over a coffee and a good conversation.
